And suddenly we're hit on mooring by the famous Mistral wind

All the signs were in the sky!

After the 'BLOW' we resumed supper, joined by the crew on 'Blue Eye'.

Views along the Rhone riverbank

One of many bullfrogs singing and firing jets of water. I wasn't quick enough to catch this one inflating his throat.

We delighted in pappa swan chasing the jet-skiers who threatened his nest - the skiers not quite so cock -sure when confronted by him!

Fishing - umbrellas for sun protection.

Miles and miles of vineyards

Pretty big Rhone Lock

They don't get much bigger than this...

Just us and another small pleasure boat in a cavernous lock. Once the gates close and the mechanisms start you feel as if you are in there with singing whales - a bit spooky the first time

Will need a few gallons to get us up there!

And it's all very slick with a midship line round a rising bollard

And so to Avignon

You know the song from childhood: Sur les pons d'Avignon, on y danse on y danse... I never dreamt I would come here by boat :) Must be the furthest inland our yacht has ever been as well.

A flood in 15th century took most of the bridge away. You have to navigate to west  of bridge or go aground. Our Halte Plaisance is just beyon.

Especially for SOAPS

You got here first Soaps - even has graffitti bubbles!

Heading for the Mighty river Rhone

Greg's alarm set for sunrise. A big day calls for an early start...

And some extra special sun shots!

Waiting for the green light at Port St Louis Lock.

The houses alongside the lock.

Screenshot of us departing lock and heading for the Mighty Rhone river.

We've seen seahorses at sea - we see wild horses on the riverbank.
