Riposto Sicily

Attractive harbour and town in the shadow of Mount Etna. Fabulous fish market and local men with makeshift lorry stalls selling fresh eggs, 'Fiori', red onions, garlic and cherries. Quite a bit found it's way onto our boat :)
Greg's beautiful singing voice hasn't gone unnoticed here!

Our bow as we bash our way up the Straits of Messina. Critical timing for the 'stream'. We made it in good time and shot through at 10 knots thinking of Scylla and Charybdis guarding the exit - it's easy to see the whirling vortex of waters and hypnotic whirlpools. Little wonder myths survive - it's a weird bit of water!
